What is Ribbit?
Frogs are environmental indicators. Their sensitive skin makes them incredibly vulnerable to pollutants within their habitats, meaning a problem with the local frog population can tell us there\'s something wrong with the wetlands they call home. This program addresses the threats to amphibians, highlights local species, and shows the adaptations that make amphibians so amazing. Ribbit explores the threats to local amphibians and shows students why they are so important for our wetlands. Students will see, learn about, and imitate amphibians found in Hamilton/Burlington. Ribbit is offered to Grades 1 - 4 and is linked to the Ontario curriculum. Students get an interactive presentation and activity about amphibians.
Please note: There are no live animals in this presentation. BARC uses 3D printed frog models for education.
